I love good Christian marriage books. Maybe that’s because I’ve been married for awhile now, but still need a lot of work!

Mom has to Read, Too: What I Read in June

Time to beef up that mom reading list for summer! If you don’t think you need a mom reading list, think again!

Full disclosure, during the winter, I think to myself, “Why do we live here, in this cold, forsaken, midwestern state? Why did people ever even settle here? Why did I fall in love with a man who lives here?”

Then, JUNE!! Oh, June in the midwest is glorious! Our woods are green, the sun shines every day and late into the evening, and the lake water is as warm as a bath.

This is the month when I think, “OOHH, this is why people settled here.”

June is a good month for finally reading outside, on a blanket in the sun.

How I Have Time to Read: Living Well Planner Review

Sometimes moms who see my mom reading lists ask, “How do you have time to read?!?”

Part of me wants to take credit. I’d like to answer, “I’m so great at this whole ‘balance’ thing that I can parent effectively and read a classic novel at the same time.”

However, that is not at all true. Also, I would never say something like that because that’s weird and jerky.

Mom Has to Read, Too: What I Read in May

Spring has come to us here in the little woods…at least that’s what the calendar says. It has been a rainy and cold few weeks, even though it is the end of May.

For church yesterday I had on a sundress and flip flops, until I realized it was 48° F. Thankfully, I had time to put on something warmer. The worst part was that since I switched to pants, that means I shaved my legs for nothing.

4 Books That Made Me a Better Mom This Year

Mother’s Day is coming up soon. It’s nice to have a day to celebrate our mothers. Also, for me, I have a day to feel guilty that I made my mom’s life so hard when I was growing up. (Sorry, Mom. You were right, I didn’t get it until I had kids of my own.)
